The Three components of photojournalism:
- Timeliness — the images have meaning in the context of a recently published record of events.
- Objectivity — the situation implied by the images is a fair and accurate representation of the events they depict in both content and tone.
- Narrative — the images combine with other news elements to make facts relatable to the viewer or reader on a cultural level.
This beautiful soul I happened upon during a recent photo shoot. We all have a story to tell and she reminded me of that. We all have something in common - humanity. The joys, the sorrows, the ups and downs of life happen to us all. This beautiful woman was telling us a little about her story and she was gracious enough to let me take her portrait. She has lived so many years, must have so many stories of her own, her most recent was that the day before this picture was taken her husband’s legs were amputated due to diabetes complications. I’m glad she shared a morsel of her story.
What’s your story? Who do you see around you waiting for you to ask you their own? I feel privledged to call myself a photographer and it’s my joy to capture a moment in people’s stories that generations will live to tell.
Goodnight and God bless.
